SUMMARY OF MEETING MINUTES
September 12, 2017
●With new QuickBooks online software, the checking and savings accounts have been reviewed line item by line item and reconciled through August 31, 2017.
●Invitational – NEED VOLUNTEERS! Section leaders have been asked to contact their sections to obtain volunteers. Need hospitality food. Program will be sent to printer by end of business on September 13.
●Student Representatives – Do not like the Dri-Fit shirts; would prefer cotton. Students thought the senior banners were a gift. They didn’t realize the banners have always been paid for by parents.
●Fundraising for New Band Uniforms — $50,882 with pledges. Three grants: (1) Horseshoe Foundation for $25,000; (2) TEGNA Foundation grant from WHAS11 for $5,000; (3) Walmart grant for $2,500. The full uniform Mr. Yankey is interested in purchasing costs @ $450-$500; $450 x 200 = $90,000.
●Car Wash – 25 to 30 students and parents. Great success! Students had fun. Raised a little over $1,000.
●Winter Fantasia Band Quilt – There will be a raffle at Winter Fantasia of a handmade quilt by Lisa Ellis. She needs show shirts! The following show shirts have been donated: 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. Can you help fill in the blanks? Contact the Booster Secretary at email@example.com if you have a shirt(s) to donate.
●New Decal Update – Sold 90 decals with a profit of $542.50. Still have decals to deliver.
●BOA Update – Busses have been contracted. Panera box lunches will be provided at the following price options: $9, $10 and $11. Order forms and other detailed information will be provided at a later date.
●Purchase of MyMusicOffice Credits – Credits may be purchased through MyMusicOffice to send text messages to those with cell phone numbers in the database. This option would only be used in case of a true emergency (to be determined by Mr. Yankey). One credit is used per phone number at a cost of ten cents per call. We have a lifetime license for this software so the credits for text messages will never expire. It was agreed that $100 for 1,000 credits would be purchased. Both One Call and/or MyMusicOffice may be used to reach as many people as possible in case of emergency.
Successful show at Columbus North! Crowd reaction to our show was excellent. Guard has their dress (dark to light) and will change during the show. Judges had wonderful things to say. Sample uniform from each vendor should be available by the end of September, early October. Whoever fits into the samples will wear the uniforms.
Winter Fantasia – Three shows: Thursday, December 7 at 2 pm; Saturday, December 9 at 2 pm; and Saturday, December 9 at 7 pm. Ticket availability and prices will be announced at a later date.
