| Why should you be a Band Booster? |
| It takes a lot of parents to load, transport, unload and maintain the uniforms, etc for 140 +
marching band members. Also help with Winter Guard, Winter Percussion, Jazz Band, Concert & Symphonic Band, Etc.
Please, volunteer to give us a hand! |
| We need Boosters to: |
- Be on a phone tree.
- Put together the program for the invitational
- Take care of the money.
- Provide information for the website.
- Put together and mail out a newsletter.
- Put together the program for the invitational
- Make sure we take ice water and cups to contest
- Maintain the golf carts, garden tractor, and equipment trailer
- Take care of fitting students for uniforms
- Organize bus chaperones
- Pull an equipment trailer
- Cheer on the band and guard!

- Stuff envelopes
- Sew flags and outfits
- Cook food
- Be an officer!
- Organize the FC invitational
- Help write grants to pay for equipment, etc.
- Drive the semi-truck.
- Take charge on fundraisers
- Help maintain the band semi-trailer
- Take minutes at the meetings
- Rewire the semi-trailer.

| Marching Activities Committee: |
| This committee organizes and coordinates activities during the marching band season. |
- Coordination of chaperones for buses
- Plan special events during marching season deemed necessary by Director or Executive Committee
- Organizes pit crew to meet needs of marching program
- Coordinates activities of pit crew with President and Director
- Provides supplies/materials needed for marching program
- Works with Equipment Committee in order to get props on field for performances

| Communications Committee: |
| The Communication Committee's primary goal is to enhance communication within the
organization by using media to accomplish the task. |
- Coordinates any publicity needed for band and guard events
- Coordinates establishment of a notification group utilizing the phone tree
- Committee members notify their contact list to communicate information on an as needed basis
- Ascertains primary method of communication to disseminate information to all parents and supporters
of the band and guard
- Keeps a current list of members email addresses and communicates with members as needed
- Maintains web site

| Band & Guard Performance Committee: |
| Members of the Band & Guard Performance Committee will consist of band and guard parents to
coordinate activities of the various performances throughout the year. |
- Coordinates activities of band (Pep band, jazz band, winter percussion, concerts) and guard performances (marching, winter guard) during the school year
- Sells tickets for band & guard events; collects money
- Sells concessions for selected events
- Sells tickets for the annual FCHS Marching Invitational
- Works the FCHS basketball games to sell tickets; collects tickets at the admission tables, supervises
outside parking, and holds ropes during the basketball games to contain students

| Band & Guard Uniform Committee: |
The Band and Guard Uniform Committee will coordinate uniform assignments, cleaning, storage,
and maintenance of all uniforms. |
- Coordinates uniform assignments to students; will require two subcommittees (band & guard) with a chairperson for each
- Oversees all storage, cleaning, maintenance and alteration issues pertaining to band and guard uniforms
- Reports uniform needs back to Director
- Distributes and collects uniforms / support materials (plumes, gloves, shoes, etc.) at marching contests
- Recruits and trains new members to ensure a smooth transition from year to year

| Equipment Committee: |
| The Equipment Committee members will consist of band and guard parents having a desire to
make sure the organization has the necessary equipment needed for all activities. |
- Coordinates needs with President and Director
- Provides for general care and maintenance of all equipment & props
- Recruits help as needed to make flags, props, etc.
- Helps with transportation of select equipment to band and guard events by coordinating needs with the Transportation Committee and Marching Activities Committee
- Recruits help as needed to meet the needs of the band and guard

| Transportation Committee: |
| The Transportation Committee will coordinate and organize activities to get the organization
and equipment to selected events during the school year. |
- Coordinates care and maintenance of semi trailer, small trailers, golf cart, lawn tractors, generator, etc.
- Obtains necessary permits & licenses to operate equipment on roads with school officials (Chip White)
- Provides certificates of insurance to rental truck or tractor suppliers
- Coordinates transportation of winter guard and winter percussion with the appropriate Director
- Works with Equipment Committee to ensure equipment transportation is accomplished
- Maintains adjunctive equipment; i.e. charges batteries to golf cart, trash cans, water jugs, ladders, portable lights, tools, tarps, ponchos, straps to secure band equipment, etc.

| Fundraising Committee: |
| The Fundraising Committee will organize and coordinate fundraising activities to meet
financial needs of the organization. Annual activities may include but not limited to: |
- Coordinating Churchill Downs activities during the year
- Coordinates Kroger cards; selling, distribution, and posting of funds to appropriate accounts, etc.
- Coordinates selected activities of organization when necessary to increase finances
- Coordinates Market Day sales

| Hospitality Committee: |
| The Hospitality Committee will be in charge of: |
- Welcoming and recruiting new members into the organization.
- Coordinates special events requiring food donations & preparation for judges, directors, and staff
- Coordinates activities with other committees in order to accomplish goals of the organization
- Organizes and coordinates the activities relevant to the annual band banquet.
